I put the part on with a new coil and put that white heat stuff on back of the Ignition module. That part was ok. I have a problem with the car itself. Hot start issue.

Question: Wat is the coil? Do I need the coil?A Shopper / Sep 02, 2020 / 1997 Chevrolet CavalierProfessional Series Ignition Module - Direct Fit, Sold Individually
Hi,
Yes, you do need the ignition coil for the module. An ignition coil is an induction coil in the ignition system, needed to create an electric spark in the spark plugs to ignite the fuel.

Question: What does it mean "without coil"?A Shopper / Sep 02, 2020 / 1997 Chevrolet CavalierProfessional Series Ignition Module - Direct Fit, Sold Individually
Hi,
This is the ignition module without the ignition coils. We do carry the ignition coils. You may want to check our listings. For accuracy of fitment, please follow the guidelines below:
To check the fitment please use our Vehicle Selector — which can be found towards the top of the homepage as well as all categories, search results, and product pages — can help verify if a part will fit your specific application.
To enter your application, simply select your vehicle’s year, make, model, sub-model, and engine type and click “Go.” Once your application is selected, you’ll see a “Guaranteed to Fit” badge if the part will fit, and we recommend that you also double-check Your Vehicle Fit Details as well as the Vehicle Fitment Information table on the product page.
