Removing the old unit:
Zip through boot retainer and cut boot off.
Cut the CV AROUND the outside circumference of the internal retaining ring.
Slide off CV, retaining ring and cutoff piece. Done!
It's a bit difficult to get aligned spot on with the shaft because it's a "blind" procedure. The internal retaining clip is square and bites into the shaft when you try to force it on. Just filed the splines on the end of the SHAFT back to create a little more approach angle and relieved the spline tips there a little too. Pops right on.
The dust ring was also shorter than my original and therefore served no purpose, so I swapped that out w/original and used Loctit# sleeve retaining compound for good measure.

part fit was perfect but unfortunately the splines on the shaft was worn to much for the new part to work properly(should have replaced the whole unit).
