Installation of my hitch did not require any drilling, for a 2013 F-150 XL. Perhaps there was some variance among different model trucks, but Curt seems to have addressed that issue. Installation took less than a half hour. Very satisfied with the product.

Upon checking with Curt, it will not work with models that came with factory hitches. They also confirmed that they don't have offered for that type.
