Hi Karen, I'm pleased to assist you. We can't modify a Class I hitch to become a Class III hitch. They are entirely different hitches designed for different towing capacities. However, we can recommend a Class III hitch that would be compatible with your vehicle. Tell us the year, make, model, and submodel of the vehicle, or send us the 17-character VIN so we can check.
