You can put this on without removing the spare tire, also if your putting this on a 2010 Toyota highlander limited "" do not follow"" the template for cutting the plastic covers you have to remove, just pay attention when you go to put them back on and you'll see what needs to be trimmed off it's not as much as the template pictures show

This will add to the possibilities of how the vehicle will be used. I have ordered a bike rack and I’m looking forward to visiting my kids in Houston and Denver and doing some great bike trips with them. And my son is already looking at trailer rentals. With the pandemic we’re looking for more outdoor activities with family and the tow hitch will provide a lot of opportunities for enjoying the outdoors. Life’s great!

Received the hitch from JC Whitney in one day! My wife and I installed it ourselves and the only issue I had was that the u-bolt needed to be compressed a little to line up with the holes. I squeezed it in a vice and all was good.

Question: Dose hitch interfere with removing spare tire?Slimwheelie 64 / Dec 10, 2020
Hi John, Vehicles with a full-size spare stored under the vehicle will not be able to store spare underneath after hitch installation. But, if you have the mini spare (smaller than the tire size on the vehicle) then there won't be a problem.

A factory Toyota hitch is the only one that you can still operate tire lift. It's pricey, at the tune of $550 and that you install! Very skill person shouldn't have a problem with install.
