Part was $200-300 dollars cheaper than dealer prices. Using U-Tube instructions it was easy to install. It fit perfectly and works perfect. Would order parts from this vender in the future.

Slight Fitment IssueFront, Passenger Side Door Lock Actuator
4.0/5
Works like it’s supposed to. Slight manufacturing defect that does not allow for a perfect fit. The hook on the door which serves as a placeholder for the latch body could not fully engage due to the slot on the latch body not having a deep enough recess to engage the hook.

Question: I replace the lock actuator. All 4 of them. But car still locking unlocking while driving ? Any ideas?Manuel M. / Jan 23, 2023
Hi Manuel, I'm glad to assist you. There might be shorted or grounded wiring. Please have it checked in real-time for an accurate diagnostic.
JE
Most cars will automatically lock after 10mph. If it is doing this continuesly then check your wiring harnesses, especially in the boot to the harness. The boots and wires in the boots are known for cracking easily due to them being created too short from the factory!
If all that is fine then I would get it diagnosed from a specialist, as they can use a special scan tool and recode the doors to not lock/unlock. This can also be done with an obdevelen but you can easily mess things up with that if you don't know what you're doing.

Answered by Joshua C. / Thu, Jan 26Question: I put the key in the lock and turn to lock but the key will just keep turning and turning but won't lock if I turn the other direction it will unlock the doors do I need a new tumbler or actuator?tobin m. / Aug 07, 2022
Hi Tobin, I'm glad to assist you. What you probably need is a door lock cylinder replacement since when you turn the key, it keeps on continuously turning. Still, it is best if you can have your car checked by a certified mechanic for an accurate diagnosis and avoid ordering the wrong part. I hope this helps for now.

Honestly it's hard to tell unless you Remove the lock cylinder. There is a procedure detailed on youtube. Just search for it. But most likely it's this module.

Yes. This module should do the trick. VW door lock modules are notorious for failing over time - moisture gets into the module and shorts out the micro switches. Driver’s side tends to fail first, because of more extensive use. The Humble Mechanic has a great instructional video on YouTube for replacing these lock modules. You’ll need to remove the exterior door handle and door skin to access the lock module.

Answered by Joanne A. / Thu, Jun 09Question: The driver’s side on my 2006 Beetle unlocks perfectly, but the passenger side works sometime. Do you think this may resolve the issue based on reasons other customers have purchased?Chevonda L. / Aug 28, 2021
Hi Chevonda, I'm glad to help you out. This item can resolve the issue if it's the door lock actuator that needs replacement. We suggest that a certified mechanic diagnose the vehicle to pinpoint the part that needs replacement. Hi Chevonda L.,
I had trouble on all my door lock actuators in my Jetta. I would press the lock on my door panel or on my remote and they locked only when they felt like it. I had this problem for many months until I got sick and tired of it. So I bought all 4 of them because all 4 were giving problems. This solved the problem. It's been about a year and I have had no problem since then. The doors lock on the first press of the button.
MANY people online have had this problem. The doors don't lock due to some jam caused by dirt or humidity on the control chipboard or the chipboard goes bad or gets cracked due to heat/cold or slamming the door too hard or other things.

Answered by Rodrigo A. / Tue, Aug 31Chevonda, I bought this for a 4 door Jetta, where the driver's door was unlocking, but the rear driver's door and front passenger door were not always working. This solved the problem, as the driver's door module is the module that controls the others, as I understand it. Since the Beetle is a 2-door, this may differ, but at this price, it is worth the try, IMO. Cheaper than a trip to any mechanic with the scan tool to diagnose the system, I would guess. If you, or someone you know, can effect this kind of replacement repair, I would say go for it.

Answered by Douglas / Sat, Aug 28Question: lock works is there a sensor key fob wont activate ?j m. / Mar 29, 2021
Hello! I'm not sure I understand your question. Does the key fob unlock the rest of the car, but not the driver door? What happens if you use the key, will it unlock all the doors including the driver door?
MD
The sensor that talks to your key fob is in the instrument panel, from what I understand. It is not in the door lock actuator, for sure. There is a fuse under the steering wheel you must check, and if you haven't already, disconnect the battery and give it 10 minutes or so before reconnecting it. Perhaps that will reset the key fob? Also, might as well change the key fob battery, if you haven't in the last few years. I can only say that I had no issues with the actuator working with my key fob upon replacing the actuator, once I hooked it up correctly (which did take a second try).

Answered by Douglas / Mon, Mar 29Door lock has two actuators, one is electrical and the other is mechanical. Best to replace the lock. Check out YouTube videos for replacing the lock. They are very helpful.
