Hi Bradley, I'm glad to help you out. I'm a bit confused about your question. Let me do my best to explain. A power door lock actuator is positioned somewhere below the latch. A rod connects the actuator to the latch, and another rod connects the latch to the knob that sticks up out of the top of the door. When the actuator moves the latch-up, it connects the outside door handle to the opening mechanism. Within the actuator, a tiny electrical motor turns a series of gears that drive a rack and pinion gear set that attaches to the actuator rod. The rotational motion of the motor is converted into linear motion, and the lock is opened. This also works with the key fob or remote. I hope this helps.
