For long bed trucks.Fuel Tank Filler Neck
5.0/5
I really like the low price. Other manufacturers charge at least twice for an identical part. Whether or not it will last nineteen years like the OEM filler neck remains to be seen. Be advised that this model is for long bed trucks, and trucks with the standard bed use a different model. I was able to replace my original fuel filler neck with this one in less than an hour. What took so long was disconnecting the hoses that were stuck on with rust, and to make matters worse the end of the vent tube was cracked with rust and broke off in the end of the hose, so it took extra time to work that stub loose and remove it. As another review suggested you might need to get new sheet metal screws to anchor the flange to the bed. My original screws were up to the job but hindsight being with me, I could have made things easier by running the screws in and out of the flange, cutting threads in the holes so to speak, before I installed the filler neck on the truck. I needed to support the neck from below while my sweetie muscled the screws in with a ratchet wrench. I’ve attached photos of the new one installed, and the old one I removed so you can see the rust damage. I’d been smelling fuel for a while, never seeing a leak dripping, but a lengthy inspection turned up the vent hose and tube on the filler neck were wet with fuel that probably sloshed out that rusty cracked tube when the tank was full.
