These sensors are located in the transmission internally, my BMW specialist, certified by BMW stated these sensors don't go bad, he recommended I get the trans filter and oil changed and replace wheel speed sensors, cause they tell the transmission control module when to shift at normal operating speeds, and my problem was solved 😉

Question: Where is the output speed sensor found on a 2008 BMW X5 3.0 SI ?Robert M. / Aug 16, 2023
Hi Robert, thank you for reaching out. The transmission output speed sensor of the 2008 BMW X5 with a 3.0-liter engine is on the transmission housing. We suggest you refer to a vehicle-specific repair manual for the diagram and exact location of the part. This item is incompatible with the 2008 BMW X5 3.0si. Per checking, we don't have the transmission output speed sensor for your vehicle. Have a nice day.
