Hi Ricky,
The impact strips are the bumper moldings that usually go on the bumper face bar. This part is for the 1988-1998 Chevrolet C/K1500 fleetside/styleside only.

Answered by Aldrin P. / Sun, Jul 25In my opinion the term impact strip is a misnomer , I prefer the term rub strip if you have the Silverado or SLE (GMC) trim package you probably have the 2 1/4" tall black horizontal side trim. These rub strips in the bumpers are intended to match up with the side trim more so than to offer much of any protection for the bumpers. The bumper 823722 does not have rub strips, it is for trucks that don't have the side trim (Cheyenne / W/T - Work truck) which is what I own
