The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) was created by automobile insurance companies to oversee a test program guaranteeing the suitability and consistent quality of aftermarket automotive parts meeting or exceeding the factory OEM quality, CAPA certified (with a yellow sticker certification on the part). However, for the non-CAPA certified, it doesn't necessarily mean lower quality. The parts are just as good but the manufacturer chooses not to pursue CAPA certification in order to cut costs.
