Question: What is the significance of the part pertaining to the car?A Shopper / Feb 11, 2021
Hi, The throttle body is an important part of your air intake system that controls the air flowing into your engine. It’s located between your air intake and engine manifold where fresh air is pulled into the engine for the combustion process. The amount of air allowed into the engine during this process controlled by the butterfly valve. The butterfly valve is a pivoting flat valve controlled by the gas pedal via cable or wire if controlled electronically. When pressing your peddle, the throttle body opens to allow more air flow into your manifold. The computer in your vehicle works with sensors to ensure that your engine receives the perfect balance of fuel and air(excerpt from our technical database).

In my case it was incompetence of many big time mechanics who had misdiognozed that I needed throttle body. I did not need any. When you do need it has to be programmed in or it will not work.

Question: I just bought a 2002 BMW 325i... been putting a lot of wk into it. I was told that this model of car does not come with the option of just replacing the throttle position sensor, the whole housing as a complete unit would need to be replaced. But after market offers both housing and just the sensor online... advice people??Solomon S. / Apr 20, 2021
Hi Solomon, I'm glad to help you out. Yes, that is correct. The throttle position sensor is built-in to this throttle body. The only way to change the sensor is by replacing the entire throttle body assembly. I hope this helps, and you can click on the link below for direct ordering while we have this part currently on sale. Happy shopping. https://www.carparts.com/throttle-body/replacement/rb31500002?can=CPAE1047

Question: Having issues once installed my rev goes up and down. Due to new part my ecm doesn't recognize it. I tried to reset it multiple times. Turn key to 3rd position (not crank) hold gas pedal for 30sec, turn off key and release gas pedal and removed key for 30sec. It supposed to reset, what am I doing wrong? Some forum told me I need to see dealership to get it reprogram.Vuthy S. / Mar 28, 2021
Hi Vuthy, We highly recommend that a certified mechanic check the vehicle for the ECM relearn procedure.
