The big notch on the TC spline needs to be facing straight down to be in neutral. The motor comes in the neutral position (observe same large notch in motor spline). If your TC is in 2 Hi simply plug the new motor in to the harness, turn on ignition and push the 2 Hi button on the dash. That will move the motor spline to the 2 hi position from the neutral position. Piece of cake installation YouTube has a couple of very informative videos on this.

When I fixed mine I left it in 2 wheel drive and had no issues installing it. It went in like a champ. The whole process took me 2 hrs. That is taking it off and installing the new one.

Question: How is it clocked when sent out....2W....4W high....4W low...???James D. / Feb 18, 2024
Hi James, I'm glad to assist you. The term "clocking" in the context of a transfer case motor typically refers to the orientation or positioning of the motor to the transfer case itself. In other words, it's about ensuring that the motor is installed in the correct alignment to function properly with the transfer case. We do not have specific details about these steps since it requires a repair shop or professional mechanic to accomplish such a task. If your car appears in the vehicle fitment information below, it is a guaranteed fit part. Grab our best offer and click the link below to buy it today.
