However, it is always consisted of three main parts: the core tube, the nucleo, and the coil.
- The core tube is where the fusion of the compounds are done. It is a deep drawn metal shell that is designed to withstand the different temperature and components of the gases and chemicals that goes through it.
- The nucleo opens and closes the valve. It slides within the core tube and its position is maintained by a spring.
- The coil is wrapped around the core tube-it is usually a tightly-bound copper wire. It stimulates the movement of the nucleo.

Installing An Air Pump Solenoid Valve

Step 1: Using an adjustable wrench, remove the block-off plugs from your injection tubes. Replace it with a new one, tapping it lightly to the manifold as you go along.
Step 2: Apply copper sealant to the check valve threads and torque it with a flare wrench.
Step 3: Position the manifold in place by pulling the passenger side dipstick. Tighten it with a flare wrench until it is fully secured.
Step 4: Position the pump bracket on the pump unit. Insert the TR bolt and spacer to hold the bracket in place, but do not tighten.
Step 5: Position the pump assembly onto the engine, and insert two TR bolts. Bolt everything in place.
Step 6: Slide three TR bolts through the bracket's guide posts to mount the pump pulley.
Step 7: Cut the existing hose into two, with 10-inches and 21-inches in length. The 10-inch hose should be aligned to the passenger side valve facing downward. The 21-inch hose should be aligned to the driver side valve facing outward towards the fender.
Step 8: Angle the hose clamps on the diverter valve facing upward.
- When changing the injection tubes, wrap around the bolt heads with Teflon tape to prevent scratches.
- The air pump won't work if you interchange the driver and passenger hoses.
