Step 1: Mount your car on jack stands, and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the lug nuts on the front wheels using the tire wrench.
Step 2: Use the wrench to unbolt the caliper from its bracket housing. Use the screwdriver to remove the brake pad retaining pins. Pull the brake pads out of the caliper.
Step 3: Put the anti-rattle spring between the brake pads, or install the spring into the spring socket and snap the brake pads into the spring. Make sure that the holes on the pads' metal backing contact with the loops on the clip. The clip has a spring-loaded design that will hold the pads against the housing. Make sure that the clip is installed the same way you removed it.
Step 4: Use the C-clamp to push the piston back to the cylinder hole. Make sure that the brake pads are securely held by the tangs on the spring. Insert the brake pad retaining pins.
Step 5: Put back the caliper and put down the caliper bracket housing. Install the two bolts through the caliper and the housing. Replace the wheel on the axle hub, and install the lug nuts. Use the torque wrench to tighten your wheel according to the torque requirement specified in your manual.
Step 6: Perform the same procedures for the other wheel. Afterwards, test the pads by pumping the brake pedal thrice slowly. Reconnect the negative battery cable and drive the vehicle to check if the brake pad chatter is gone.
