Prevent rust builup by applying WD-40.


Not that you have to worry so much about it-especially if you bought an expensive axle nut that is manufactured from high grades of steel-but WD-40 prevents rust from building up on the axle nut. However, if you do coat it with WD-40, always check the torque of the nut. WD-40 also has a tendency to loosen the nut from its socket.
