Hyundai has released the official pricing for the 2021 Elantra ahead of its arrival in the United States. The redesigned sedan now boasts bolder styling and an expanded lineup despite the discontinuation of its GT hatchback variant.
Pricing starts at $20,645 for the base model and ranges up to $29,095. Aside from the returning Elantra trims from the previous model year, Hyundai is also introducing a hybrid powertrain and the sporty, turbocharged N-Line model (formerly known as the Elantra Sport).
The new Elantra is equipped with a standard naturally aspirated 2.0-liter inline-four engine that delivers 147 horsepower and up to 37 mpg combined. The entry-level SE model retails for $20,645, followed by the SEL variant at $21,895 and the Limited trim at $26,445. All three models feature a continuously variable automatic transmission.
The Elantra hybrid range, meanwhile, comes with an increase of about $2,650 in its price tag, starting with the SEL hybrid trim at $24,545. Hyundai is looking at a combined EPA fuel-economy estimate of 50 mpg for the hybrid, which will also offer a combined 139 horsepower. For the Limited hybrid variant, the retail price is $29,095.
Topping the Elantra lineup is the N-Line model with its turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four engine with 201 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment. The starting price is at $25,095; an extra $900 gets owners the optional dual-clutch automatic. The manual N-Line is suited up with Goodyear Eagle F1 summer tires, while the automatic variant has a set of Hankook Ventus all-season tires.
Hyundai says the 2021 Elantra lineup is scheduled to go on sale in the United States starting this fall.
