My doors' power locks do not work. I just found it out this morning. I tried turning off and restarting the ignition but to no avail. I got out trying the remote to lock the doors but nothing happened. I'm afraid somebody would just barge into my car and run off in it.

Each door has a dedicated solenoid, and a switch activates the power for the door lock solenoids to function. The switch then sends out power voltage to the solenoid terminals to be able to lock the doors. The switch likewise reverses the voltage polarity to the terminal solenoids to be able to unlock the doors. Now if your Chevy truck's door locks are ineffective, then there must be a malfunctioning wire or component of the door lock mechanism. This calls for an inspection of the fuse box. Check if the fuse is blown out or the circuit itself fails to deliver the required power voltage. You should have a professional technician diagnose the problem. After all, the door lock mechanism is one of the most important safety features of your truck.

A few weeks ago, I've noticed that my Chevrolet C20 pickup was struggling to stop whenever I stepped on the brake pedal. Also, the brake light would not come on. I checked on the reservoir and found out that the brake fluid was low. I called up a friend and he topped it off. Everything went fine for a few days. Then the same thing happened again. I once again checked on the reservoir and the brake fluid was low again. How could this be?

A low brake fluid is the usual culprit for this problem. Basically, the reason the truck stops when you step on your brake pedal is because the brake fluid from the reservoir is being pushed against the brake calipers and pads. However, the lack of brake fluid prevents this from happening, which of course could compromise your safety on the road. If you have topped off the brake fluid only to realize it got low again, then you must be dealing with a leak. To self-diagnose this, check your parking space if there is any fluid puddle. Also check on the wheels for any sign of wetness. Look into the brake hoses near the wheels as these are usually where leaks occur. Once you confirm this is the real cause of your problem, immediately bring your truck to the service center as this is not something to put off for another day.

Help! My truck's dome light won't come on. What should I do?

The dome light basically has three slide switch positions namely off, on, and the middle position, which is for letting the light come on whenever the doors are open and come off when the doors are closed. First, you could try playing with the switches to see if anything happens. Second, you could check out your manual to see the diagram for the dome lights and take off the exterior panel. You need to check if all wires are still in place. But if all else fails, have a professional look into it and replace essential parts when necessary.
