Hi Danny, The difference between the left and right side of the muffler would on the position of how it is mounted. Two exhaust outlets (driver and passenger side) usually means a free-flowing dual exhaust system. This is common on v8s and higher performance engines. Some cars have been made with two outlets coming from a single exhaust system for cosmetic reasons. On a v engine, the exhaust ports on each side can go into a y intersection and become single exhaust or stay separate and become dual exhausts.
