Toyota only sells the complete lock mechanism including the actuator for around $600. Checking online postings stated the actuator for the Rav4 is a direct fit. They were correct! Saved $500 just on this one part. Thank you APW! OBTW, it's from the same manufacturer as the OEM part that came with the SUV.

Replacement Door Lock Actuator - Front, Driver Side

Was able to make it work
This may be a unique condition in my situation; my FOB would not work with this module installed, driver's side front. Basically, none of the door locks would not activate. Since the real failed part is the electric motor within the module, I swapped out the motor into the original module and was able to make the locks work again. In the end, I didn't need the whole module but was glad I could get it to work without having to reinstall the door trim and hardware, wait for a new part and do it all over again.
