Hood - Primed

Great quality at a great price
This is my first time ordering a Replacement brand hood. I didn't know what to expect, and I was very happy with the quality of the hood. Compared to the OEM hood I removed and didn't see much difference. All required holes were identical (for the weather stripping and washer fluid clips). I had to break the old ones to get them off, so the only wish I had was an option to include those clips with the hood order. I'll have to hunt at an auto-parts store for comparable replacements. The hood felt even slightly heavier than the original, but the weight is so close I can't be certain. Overall, I am extremely happy with the hood.

Honda Hood Articles

Honda manufacturers never stopped providing their automobiles with highly advanced parts. Because we all know that parts are very integral to every vehicle. Each of this part has its own roles to achieve. One of these parts is the Honda hood. Though hoods are considered as a minor part of a vehicle compared to the engine, this can also add to the overall performance of your car. Hoods on the underside is also sometimes covered with a sound-absorbing material to diminish noise while some, especially high-performance ones, have openings to for the engine to breathe easily.

Hoods keep the engine and other delicate internal parts of a vehicle secured. It was intended for reliable protection, designed and carved for perfect fitting, and crafted to give a distinct look while serving its main purpose. Honda hood aesthetic design are made in such a way that it would complement to the over-all design of the vehicle. Outer panel and inner panel are the principal components of the hood. The outer panel is a sheet metal cover that provides fashion and sophistication to your vehicle. On the other hand, the inner panel is the one responsible in giving your hood the strength it needs to guard the engine and other mechanical parts.

There are also carbon fiber hoods, and then there are hoods made of carbon fiber composites. Either of these can conceivably suit your purposes. You just need to gather information about both types and some other types of hoods and decide which one will work best with your car. Hoods may seem pretty typical, but they are actually a hot item when it comes to exterior car accessories. And there are ways to customize your hood. You can always add extra visual information to your hoods simply by painting it. It is a great way to make any hood look far cooler and more personalized. It really depends on you. You always have a choice whether you purchase a new hood or paint and accessorize your original hoods.

After all, finding for the right Honda hoods for your Honda is never a problem. An ample variety of hoods, specifically Honda hoods, OEM hoods, aftermarket hoods, factory hoods and even replacement hoods are spread thru sites on the net. Used Honda hoods are also being offered if in case you can't afford such hoods. For practicality reason, used hoods are cheaper but they are still in good quality. Though it is a second-hand Honda hood, the important thing is you use the same hood on your vehicle. Because your Honda car deserves the best Honda parts, too.

FAQs—Honda Hood

  1. A friend is telling me to occasionally clean my Honda hood to avoid rusting and corrosion. Do I need special tools or equipment when cleaning? What are the things I need to take note of?

You do not need any special equipment when cleaning your Honda hood, although a pressure washer can considerably quicken the process. Make sure not to drench the coil pack, distributor, alternator, and air cleaner. In addition, hose the engine bay one area at a time. Do not directly spray water on sensors and wires. After washing, use a clean towel to pat dry the components.

  1. During my weekly cleaning, my Hondo hood just won't open. Everything appears to work. Why does it get stuck and what to do with this issue?

There are many causes for a stuck hood; it may be due to an accident, a faulty release mechanism, or some issues with the hood itself. If you did not get into any accident and everything seems to work fine, chances are, the stuck hood may be due to the accumulation of dirt, is rusted, or stiffened caused by the freezing weather. Whichever the case, do not force the stuck hood to open. Inspect the release latch or run the engine to heat up the frozen hinges. It is also helpful to ask for another set of hands to help you work on the hood.

  1. Because of our dusty environment and dirt stock up, the release latch of my Honda hood gets broken. What are some maintenance procedures to undertake to prevent it from getting damage again?

Getting constant exposure to dusty elements can really damage the hood release. To prevent this from happening, you can regularly apply some wiper fluid to the hood release cable and check the tension frequently. It is best to use lubricants like motorcycle chain oil. This type of lubricant can prevent accumulation of dust, rust, and other debris, letting your Honda hood open and close easily.

  1. An object fell on my Honda hood recently. Is it possible to repair the bent hood on my own? How to do it?

Depending on the severity of the dent, you can fix your bent Honda hood without getting help from a professional mechanic with just some basic tools. After removing the hood completely from the vehicle, you can gently hammer out the minor dents on a padded wide area. This will prevent the other side from getting scratch.

  1. I want to personalize my Honda vehicle and I am thinking of changing the hood. What are the factors I have to consider when choosing the right hood?

Honda hoods come in different styles, special functions, material construction, and replacement options. Whether you choose an OEM or aftermarket hood, make sure to first determine which type of hood you want. Available types include flat type, which are the basic designs, the louvered and air extractor hoods, which help ventilate the engine, the ram air and cowl induction hoods that are suitable for performance use. You may also consider the material construction of the hood, whether you prefer the traditional steel construction, aluminium, carbon fiber, or fiberglass.
