Brought my S10 to life again!!Front, Driver And Passenger Side Shock - Front Spring Assist, Set Of 2
5.0/5
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Completely Cured the "S10 Sag" – A Total Game Changer!
If you own a Chevy S10, you probably already know about the dreaded rear-end sag. After years of hauling, my leaf springs were looking pretty tired, and the truck was bottoming out over speed bumps even with an empty bed. I decided to give these spring-loaded shocks a try instead of replacing the entire leaf spring pack, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results.
The Install: Installation was a breeze. They were an exact, direct-fit replacement for the stock shocks. If you have basic hand tools and a floor jack, you can get both sides done in about an hour.
The Ride Height: As soon as I dropped the jack, I noticed the difference. The coil springs on these shocks gave the rear end just the right amount of boost, bringing the truck perfectly back to level.
The Performance: Unloaded, the ride is slightly firmer than stock but feels incredibly planted and secure—no more body roll around corners. But where these really shine is under a load. I threw a few hundred pounds of gear in the bed this weekend, and the truck barely squatted.
If you use your S10 for hauling, towing, or just want to revive an old, tired suspension, buy these right now. Best money I’ve spent on my truck in years!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Essential upgrade if you use your S10 for work!
I use my Chevy S10 as a daily workhorse, and the factory shocks just weren't cutting it anymore whenever I loaded up the bed or hitched up my small utility trailer. I swapped them out for these load-adjusting spring shocks, and it transformed the truck.
Pros:
Eliminates squat: Handles heavy loads of mulch, gravel, and tools without burying the tires in the wheel wells.
Easy swap: Bolted right into the factory mounts.
Great value: Much cheaper and easier than adding add-a-leafs or swapping the whole spring pack.
Cons:
None so far! Just keep in mind it will stiffen up your unloaded ride slightly, which is exactly what a real truck needs anyway.
Five stars. Don't hesitate if your S10 needs some extra backbone!

Nice upgradeFront, Driver And Passenger Side Shock - Front Spring Assist, Set Of 2
5.0/5
Look to be a good quality part, haven’t installed yet but they feel premium. Packaging wasn’t the best, but I didn’t pay for the box. I paid for the shocks so still 5 stars. Once installed I’ll update.

Do these take place of the springs as well or just the shock?

Specialty Series Shock absorber with rear Assist
shocks on rear of 2001 Frontier XE RWD increase the rear ride height? Would like to get 1.5-2 inches of lift.Quicksilver / Jun 06, 2024
Hi Gary, thanks for initiating contact. These shocks are designed to reduce ride height loss when your car is carrying a load, not necessarily increasing the base ride height. Worn-out shocks can contribute to sagging, so replacing them could lead to a slight height increase even without the "lift" feature. Some online reviews for the ACDelco 519-2 mention users experiencing a 1.5-2-inch lift, but it's important to note that these are individual experiences and might not be universally applicable. If you specifically need a guaranteed 1.5-2-inch lift, you can check lift coil springs or lift kits. Consider contacting a mechanic specializing in suspension modifications. They can assess your car's current condition, recommend the best lift solution for your needs, and perform the installation. Question: Will these fit a 2004 Nissan frontier desert Runner?Lil B. / May 23, 2024
Hi Lil, thanks for initiating contact. No, this will not work for the Dessert Runner. There are some fit notes that need to be clarified. I suggest calling our parts specialists at 1-866-529-0412 to provide the complete vehicle information so we can help you look for the right part. The VIN would be helpful. Have a nice day!
