I read that engine overheating is a common problem with older cars like my Triumph GT6. How do I prevent it from happening?

Engine overheating can have really bad effects on your engine, and if you run out of luck, your engine will fail because of it. You just have to ensure that your engine cooling system is always up and running when your engine is running. Your engine's cooling system is made up of different parts like the radiator, hose, fan, pump and reservoir. All these components work hand in hand with each other so if one fails, it will certainly affect the function of the cooling system. Keeping your cooling system components free from rust and leaks is the best maintenance you can do for it. Another thing is to make sure that you always have coolant because without it, the cooling system will not be able to carry out the job. The coolant should be kept at the right level. It should also be flushed and replaced annually because the coolant turns acidic if it's left there for a long time. Rust can develop on the metal components of the cooling system because of the acidity of the coolant that has not been replaced and also cause them to wear out prematurely.

What is making my gears hard to shift?

It may sound simple and you might find it unbelievable, but one of the known causes of hard shifts is just a dirty clutch. If this is the culprit, all you have to do is to clean it with water to wash away the dirt that has already accumulated on the clutch surface. Another known culprit of hard shifting is a worn out or defective clutch. This is also an easy fix because you will only have to replace the old one with a new one. But if it is not the clutch, what is causing hard shifting then? Well, you might want to have a look at the level of transmission fluid or if the transmission fluid is still clean and fresh. If the transmission fluid is already contaminated, it will not work properly. You are going to have to flush out the contaminated fluid and replace it with a fresh one. That will probably do the trick. You should also check the transmission for leaks because you don't want to run out of transmission fluid and put the entire system at risk, would you?

My driveshaft is vibrating too much. Why is that?

One of the reasons of too much vibration coming from the driveshaft is when it is not balanced. This happens if the driveshaft is dented or bent. If the driveshaft is unbalanced, there will be no equal weigh distribution on the wheels. You should also check if it is still aligned properly. Worn-out or loose parts can also cause the unusual vibrations.
