The American Motors Marlin, also known as the Rambler Marlin, was first introduced in 1965. This personal luxury car was a fastback version of the mid-sized, 2-door hardtop Rambler Classic. This version also had various improvements that included a longer hood, a more spacious interior, and equipped with a V8 engine. It also had an excellent transmission system.

You must find where it is coming from and have the hole patched as soon as possible.

An automatic transmission fluid is usually bright red in color. It should be clear and should smell kind of sweet. If it becomes brownish in color, if it is not clear anymore, and if it has a burnt smell, you should flush it out and replace it with a new one. A contaminated or burnt transmission fluid will not be able to function correctly. If your transmission fluid has a burnt smell coming from it, it means that your transmission is overheating, which is bad for your transmission.

If your transmission is not responding or if it refuses to go into gear, you should be very concerned and check your transmission immediately. This problem may be caused by low transmission fluid level, incorrect type of fluid used on your car's transmission, shift cables and clutch linkage needs adjustment, or dirty or worn out clutch. If you are running low on transmission fluid, all you need to do is to refill the fluid and check if it is leaking. If your clutch is too dirty, just spray it with water to wash away the dirt that has accumulated on it. If the clutch is already worn out or faulty, you can easily replace it. The tricky part is when the shift cables and clutch linkage needs to be adjusted since you might need the help of a professional. Same goes if you have used the wrong type of transmission fluid in your transmission as you have to check the transmission for damage because of it.
