The upcoming 2021 Ford F-150 performance truck was recently spotted with a partly exposed front fascia, giving customers an idea of what the next generation of the well-loved model will look like.

The truck will be built on a body-on-frame platform that can support plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains, suggesting it as the company’s answer to the GMC Hummer EV and other upcoming electric trucks.

Based on the spy photos, nothing much will change in terms of the overall design. The majority of the changes are apparent in the design cues instead such as the grille, the headlight surrounds, and taillights.

When it comes to powertrain options, what’s been confirmed so far is that there will be a plug-in hybrid option and the first electric version of the F-150. Ford has not released information on the specifications; however, it’s expected to be as jaw-dropping as the prototype F-150 EV that towed a one-million-pound train containing 42 F-150 trucks in an earlier video.
