The gasket was the correct one, but I did'nt need it because the cover came with one. It should say the cover already comes with a gasket. Guess that's how you make a little extra $$. It's more of a hassle to send it back so I kept it. It also came in a separate box, could have been put in with the cover. Some body was sleeping.
Time will tell if it holds the seal tight but it was easy to install and seems to be just fine. Installed on my 2001 Silverado 4x2
