Solid price, I don’t see it rotting out anytime soon. However, dimensions were slightly off. Can make it work, just doesn’t line up perfect, no big deal.

  • A usual grille bracket costs around $50 to $250. To ensure that you are getting the right fit for your vehicle, enter your vehicle’s correct year, make, and model into our search engine.

Your car grille plays an important function in engine cooling. Aside from that, it also adds your vehicle’s overall aesthetic appeal. This is why it is very important to ensure that your grille is attached properly into the vehicle body.

Whether you’re upgrading your grille assembly or replacing an old or damaged one, you will surely have to find a grille replacement at one point. Along with finding a quality grille, you may need to find new and quality bolts, screws, clips, and brackets to aid your installation.

Thankfully, there are a lot of  OE and OEM replacement grille brackets available in the market today. In this guide, we will get to know more about grille brackets, their function, and the importance of replacing a faulty one.

What are grille brackets?

Grille brackets, along with other bolts, screws, and fasteners, hold your grille assembly in place. Brackets are a necessary component in the installation process. Without it, your grille assembly will just be a piece of loosely fitted car component.  A loosely fitted grille may pose a risk to car components under the hood, as this will serve as an entry point for road debris. Not to mention, a loosely fitted grille will damage your car’s aesthetic quality.

What is an automotive grille assembly and why is it important to your vehicle?

The main function of a vehicle grille is to allow outside air into the engine compartment. This air helps cool the radiator and the rest of the engine components. Aside from that, it also serves as a layer of protection from debris.

Another thing that makes the grille an important component of your vehicle is its undeniable impact on your vehicle’s overall aesthetic quality. In fact, some manufacturers make use of their grille design to distinguish their vehicle models from the rest of their counterparts. Car owners may also use a stylish aftermarket grille as a way to personalize and customize their vehicle. As most car enthusiasts say, a well-designed grille is reflective of a vehicle’s reputation and identity.

Mesh grille

Mesh grilles are often installed on luxury vehicles and sports cars. Depending on the complexity of its design, it is either made in one plate, weaved, or bonded through. This type of grille is usually made of thin plastic, stainless steel, or aluminum.

Billet grille

This type of grille is considered to be the most durable. Usually, a billet grille features thin lines with a few thick lines in the middle. Billet grills are usually made of steel or aluminum materials.

Custom grilles

Aside from the two types mentioned above, car owners may also choose to install custom grilles that are specifically designed for their vehicle. This may cost more than other variants,  but if you’re after customization, it may be worth a try.

Aside from the usual bumper grille, some vehicles may also have fender, hood scoop, or trunk grilles installed.

OEM vs OE Grille Brackets

If you’re looking for a replacement grille bracket, you may encounter terms such as OEM and OE parts. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM grille brackets are made by the manufacturers themselves. Usually, these are the ones you can buy from your official dealer or authorized merchants. You may notice that OEM replacements are priced higher than aftermarket variants. However, buying an OEM replacement is worth it. Since the grille bracket came from the car manufacturer themselves, you can be sure of the quality and compatibility of your car part.

OE replacements, on the other hand, refer to car parts that are made by a third-party manufacturer. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, OE grille brackets may be the best option for you. These brackets are usually priced lower than OEM. However, this does not mean that they rate less in terms of quality.

Which is better? It really depends on your budget and preference. OE replacements are just as good as OEM. Some are even better. Whichever kind of grille bracket you choose to buy, the important thing that you should ensure is the quality of the car part regardless whether it is an OE or OEM replacement part.

What to look for in a grille bracket?

Looking for a grille bracket may be a bit overwhelming. With all the OE and aftermarket variants available online, browsing through a lot of options may be exhausting. If you’re too busy to go through all the options, filtering them may be necessary. To help you filter your options, here are three things you should consider when choosing the best grille bracket for your vehicle:

Durability

The first thing you should consider when choosing a grille bracket is its durability. Since it plays a major role in keeping your grille in place, you have to make sure that your brackets are durable and made of quality materials.

Value for Money

Aside from durability, one of the things you have to look for is value for your money. Replacing your grille assembly may be pricey. However, investing in good but budget-friendly brackets may help cut the cost. Of course, one must not disregard the quality of a car part even when choosing a budget-friendly option.

Compatibility

Another important factor you should consider is compatibility. If you decide to buy individual brackets, check the specifications of the item and make sure that your brackets are compatible with your grille assembly.

How much does a grille bracket replacement cost?

A typical grille bracket replacement will cost around $50 to $250.  Most brackets are sold individually, in sets of 2, or as part of a whole kit. The price of your grille brackets will greatly depend on the brand and the materials used for them.

How to Install a Grille Bracket

If you don't want your brand-new and expensive grille guard to come off during travel, you need to secure it with a set of high-quality and heavy-duty grille brackets. These sturdy steel fasteners keep the grilles mounted in place even if you're driving along rough, uneven roads. Attaching a grille bracket is easy and can be done in just a few minutes without the help of a mechanic. Here are the tools you need and the steps to follow in installing grille brackets:

Difficulty level: Easy

Tools that you'll need:

  • Head bolts
  • Flat and lock washers
  • Hex nuts
  • Needle-nose pliers

Step 1: Remove the bolts holding the factory tow hooks in place. You'll find these bolts along the front section of your vehicle.

Step 2: Attach the grille brackets and reinstall the tow hooks. Bolt the brackets and hooks into place. Hand tighten the bolts accordingly, but leave room for adjustment.

Step 3: You need to remove the grille assembly to attach the other brackets. Open your vehicle's hood and take off the 12 clips keeping the grille in place. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to easily remove the clips. Gently squeeze each clip to release. Next, carefully pull on the grille to remove it.

Step 4: Bolt the passenger side top support grille brackets and space out each bracket approximately 7/8 inches apart. Hand tighten the bolts.

Step 5: Reinstall the grille assembly to your vehicle. Next, attach the grille guard using head bolts, lock washers, hex nuts, and flat washers. Make sure the two holes on the the grille guard's lower portion is aligned with the holes on the outer edge of the grille frame brackets.

Step 6: Attach the top support brackets and check if the grille guard assembly is aligned properly. Tighten all grille brackets to complete the installation.
