Infiniti QX4 Guides

When you are looking for Infiniti qx4 parts, you have to make sure that the dealer that you will transact business with is a trusted one. How will you know that the dealer is authorized and professional to deal with? A wise buyer investigates first. Ask your friends and colleagues who have had experiences with online shopping. Research about the online store's reputation. Gather reviews or testimonials that will prove that the dealer you are transacting with is worth your time, effort, money, and trust.

First launched in 1997, the Infinity qX4 is based from the platform wherein the Nissan Pathfinder sits. Basically a luxury vehicle, the Infinity qx4 sets this attribute aside when it battles off-road trials. This can capably cope with the off-road challenge as it is gifted with a low-range four wheel drive system and a precise ground clearance. The first major redesigning concepts clammed the vehicle in 2001 wherein engine power upgrades, interior and exterior body styling updates, improvements, and other innovations took place. By 2003, the model was discontinued in production to give way to the larger and full-size versionsthe Infiniti FX and Infiniti QX56.

There are a large number of vehicle names joining the already tough competition. Infiniti confidently has tried its best to fit in the competing segments of cars and the Infiniti qx4 is another manifestation of the excellence that thrives within the company. This form of sport utility vehicle runs into motion with the aid of the top Infiniti qx4 parts. There is no doubt that these auto parts are very important so every car owner owes their vehicle the maintenance and regular checkup of all of the components therein. For customization and replacement needs of Infiniti qx4 parts, OEM, original factory parts, performance parts, and aftermarket parts are widely available all over the net. They are all easy to install and offered in low, low prices which you surely can afford.

FAQs—Infiniti QX4

How would I know when the catalytic converter needs to be looked at? I've been reading a lot of complaints when it comes to the QX4's catalytic converter, and I don't want to end up having to pay a lot for its replacement.

Usually, the catalytic converter can last as long as the vehicle's lifespan. But there are indeed circumstances wherein it prematurely fails. You can prevent it from happening if you are able to spot the signs that may indicate issues with your catalytic converter such as: a sudden drop in your vehicle's fuel efficiency, a difficulty in accelerating whenever you step on the gas pedal, or your MIL or Check Engine light turning on, or your vehicle refusing to start. If you've started to notice those symptoms then better bring your vehicle to a professional have the catalytic converter checked immediately to avoid further damage or other complications.

My QX4 has been nothing but a blessing. I've bought it from its previous owner and has now been with my family for over a year. It's good in snow and they say it's even better off road. I'm just wondering though, can the all season tires handle both snow and rocky trails? I'd like to try to go off road but I'm afraid that even though the engine could handle it, my tires wouldn't.

Your all-season tires can handle snow. But if you want to feel safer during the winter, then you have to use winter tires instead. But if you're planning to go off road, then that's a completely different matter. All-season tires are equipped to handle dry, wet, or even a bit of an icy road but not rocky terrains or steep trails. What you're going to need are all-terrain tires, which can handle everyday driving and at the same time, can allow you to traverse light to moderate off road conditions.

I experience horrible bouncing whenever I drive my Infiniti QX4. I don't know what went wrong, but my car was fine two days ago, then the next thing I know, it suddenly feels like a bouncy house. I hadn't gone into any accident, and I didn't notice any noise that could have signaled something breaking. What could be wrong?

If your vehicle became bouncy all of a sudden then you might want to have the suspension or alignment checked. It's possible that you didn't notice it, but you've probably hit a large rock or something on the ground that have caused damage to your suspension components or may have knocked your alignment out of shape. These are serious issues and not only pose a threat to your comfort but to your safety as well. Don't ignore it, but instead have a professional take a look at your car right away.

To improve your suspension durability you may want to lubricate the chassis using a grease gun at key points on the undercarriage like the joints where the tires connect to the steering system. This will help the metal on metal interaction to become smoother and less damaging.

Infiniti QX4: The Pioneer in the QX Tradition of World-Class SUV Experience and Superior Customer Satisfaction

Nissan and its Infiniti division will never settle for second best especially for their first attempt in penetrating the SUV industry. Using the S-U-V principle of STYLE, UTILITY, and VERSATILITY as its guide, Infiniti successfully released its very first sports utility vehicle, the Infiniti QX. The Infiniti QX, which was exclusively sold in North America beginning 1997, belongs to the mid-size category of SUVs. It spawned three generations of luxurious SUVs, which certainly captured the hearts of both Nissan and Infiniti patrons. First in the QX line of first-class SUVs is the first generation Infiniti QX4. This particular model sealed the deal in making Infiniti a legitimate SUV manufacturer.

Six years of pure SUV goodness: QX4 (1997-2003)

The QX4 introduced the Infiniti QX line in 1997. It was an offshoot of the Nissan Pathfinder and was released to compete with Acura’s SLX and Lexus’ LX 450. QX4 got its name from its four-wheel-drive feature. This generation lasted for six years, and it produced a Japanese counterpart known as the Nissan Terrano Regulus.

The QX4 edge

One of the things that put the QX4 above its competitors is the high-technology four-wheel-drive system known as the ATTESA E-TS. It also has a more luxurious interior and a superb off-road capability. Its ability to drive through all kinds of terrains became possible not only because of its low-range four-wheel-drive system but also through its 8.3 inches of ground clearance and body-on-frame structure.

The millennium makeover

The much-awaited upgrade for the 1997 version of the QX4 came in 2001. The first generation QX received a brand-new V6 engine from the VQ series, which increased its meager 168 horsepower to a whopping 240 horsepower. From 3.3 liters, the displacement was raised to 3.5 liters. The QX4’s timing belt and ignition distributor were ditched and replaced with the more reliable timing chain and individual coil ignition system.

Apart from the engine upgrade, the QX4’s appearance was also improved through an interior and exterior style modification. The interior received a new dash board, while the exterior got a 17-inch alloy wheel and Xenon HID-powered headlamps. A rear-wheel drive option was also made available in the same year.

The last stretch

When 2002 came, the QX4 adapted a cruise control feature. It shared the Intelligent Cruise Control feature developed by Nissan with Infiniti’s Q45 sedan. Aside from this, the 2002 model also received an upgraded audio system. Rear-seat video entertainment in VCR or DVD forms also became an option.

The 2003 version of Infiniti QX4 got a boost in the safety department with the curtain-type side airbags. Formerly available only in the Premium package, the driver-seat memory system, leather or wood grain steering wheel equipped with audio controls, and the 17-inch wheels became standard features. Power moon-roof, heated seats, and VCR or DVD rear-seat entertainment system were offered as options.

The gracious farewell

QX4’s six years of providing first-class SUV experience ended in 2003 when Infiniti decided to halt its production. The last batch of QX4s was made in November of the year 2002. Its position in terms of value was claimed by the FX35 or 45 Crossover SUV. Meanwhile, the QX tradition continued through the bigger QX56, which debuted in 2004.
