The Lamborghini Countach is one of my most precious possessions, but it has lost power over time. As much as I want to have the power back, I also want to keep its original specs. How can I do that?

You also have to work on the brakes, differential, tires, and the transmission system.

I always make sure that the transmission system of my car has enough healthy oil. Lately, however, I'm having a hard time shifting between the two low gears. What could be causing the problem?

It's true that the transmission system needs enough lubricant in order to work best, but it takes more than simply filling the transmission with healthy oil in order to prevent damage. You have to be observant about any abnormal performance and signs of defect. As with the transmission oil, for instance, observe the frequency of refilling. If you're doing it too often, there may be leaks that you need to address. If left unresolved, temperature in the system will go up, and end with hard shifting. Such a problem can be due to cracked or torn rubber seal.

With an automatic transmission system, like that in your Lamborghini Countach, hard shifting can also be caused by a worn clutch disc. If you spin down more slowly, the clutch disc or pressure plate is most possibly defective already. Other causes also include worn bearings, binding shift linkage, and synchronizer assembly.

I make sure I get quality brake pads for my Lamborghini Countach, but they still wear faster. Is there any way I can increase their mileage?

Fact is that sports cars wear brake pads faster than other vehicles, much like how fast they consume fuel when compared to ordinary cars. The reason lies on the amount of stopping power required to handle the power and speed of fast cars. The higher the speed, the greater friction needed to stop the wheel spin, and the more wear that results from it. You can counter this problem by avoiding sudden unnecessary brakes; as much as possible, shift to lower gears before pressing on the brake pedal. And if you are experiencing sticky brakes, have it reinstalled properly.
