FAQs—Mercedes Benz CL55 AMG
How much should I rely on my Mercedes Benz CL55's navigation system? It's such a shame to admit I'm a little too old for this technology.
Newbies and old pals can easily get along with navigation systems. With the use of Global Positioning System or what we call GPS, the navigation system is able to collect data needed to determine locations. It also offers directional voice prompts to help you select destinations and calculate routes. Factory-installed and aftermarket navigation system may significantly differ as with reliability, depending on form and function. Some may need reprogramming to ensure correctness of information. Others cover the entire United States. Still others require downloading of additional maps. There are also those that must be updated at regular interval for reliable information.
Though my car is a bit short with power, I still want to keep it for sentimental reasons. My problem is how to decrease noise.
Noise comes from the engine and the wind. The latter is basically intensified by speed, so you'll notice that noise level increases as you shift to higher gears. If the problem has sprung up just lately, you have to check for any faulty weatherstrippings. Daily wear and tear cause these rubber contraptions to loosen grip and subsequently allow wind and road noise inside. These also affect temperature quality in the cabin. Worse, when rainy season comes, water will seep and bring damage to your upholstery. If the weatherstrips have gone cracked with age, it's best to solve the problem by having replacements already than simply mending the faulty portion.
Air-deflecting accessories also help decrease wind noise. You might want to redirect wind away from the window lids using air deflectors. These noise-reducing add-ons can also make your vehicle look sportier while improving its aerodynamics, so your Mercedes Benz CL55 will get enhanced look, speed, and quietness in as simple as adding air deflectors.
How do you think would my Mercedes Benz CL55 AMG fare if it gets a body kit? And will I still be able to find one for an old model?
Body kit is by far the best addition to achieve a head-turning sports car look. And if a luxury 2-door coupe, from Mercedes Benz, would have it, you'll no doubt get improved exterior. Expect to also enjoy better aerodynamics. Meaning, your car will drive faster even if you've done no change with the engine system. A body kit pulls the frame lower to the ground, which in turn, allows for decreased air drag as your speedometer hits higher.
Finding a body kit for your Mercedes Benz CL55 depends on how old your car is. The CL series has been taken out the Mercedes Benz line for quite a time already, so finding one for earlier versions will surely be a challenge. Custom shops may be able to get you few choices but could cost a bit higher compared with body kits for newer versions due to availability reasons. It's still worth a try, though.
