You can easily repair the side skirt if it gets worn out in due time. But, if the damage gets worse, then go ahead and install a new one. Here's a step-by-step process to guide you on how to install a new side skirt to your car.
Difficulty level: moderate
Tools you'll need:
- Saw
- Ratchet set
- Phillips screwdriver
- Double-sided tape
- Grease pencil
- Soft brush
- Drill
- Small bucket
- Dish soap
- Towel
Step 1: Before you can start the installation, remove the screws holding the original side skirt to the vehicle. Do this using either the Phillips screwdriver or the ratchet. Place the original side skirt aside.
Step 2: Taking a warm bucket of water, place a few drops of dish soap. Next, using the soft brush, clean the area of the automobile where you're going to install the new side skirt. Dry it out using a towel.
Step 3: Place the new side skirt against the car to fit it. Take note of the location of the screw holes in the vehicle and mark the placement of these holes in the new side skirt using a grease pencil. Don't worry if the skirt is too long; you can cut it using the saw.

Step 6: Peel off the tape. Next, take the skirt and stick it against the tape.
Step 7: Screw the new side skirt using the bolts and screws that came with it.
Step 8: Drill a hole into each of the wheel wells on the side of the automobile, in the area where the skirt hits them. Using two small screws and Phillips screwdriver, secure the side skirt to the wheel wells. And you're done!
