The main driving symptoms that you will notice with the symptoms of a bad transmission control solenoid is that there could be delayed gear shifting, you can't downshift and your engine will continue to rev, your transmission will be stuck in the neutral position, and the shifting of gears becomes very rough and choppy

A:BEST ANSWERHi Patch, I'm glad to help you out. Yes. This part is guaranteed to fit the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, 4L60E Transmission; 1-2, 2-3 Shift Solenoid. Low or dirty transmission fluid can cause a car to be stuck in the first gear of the automatic transmission. When the dirty transmission fluid is pushed through the solenoid, these small bits of metal become stuck in the solenoid and prevent it from closing, meaning that your vehicle will be stuck on first gear until the affected solenoid is replaced.
