Audi 100 Quattro Customer Reviews

Universal Oxygen Sensor, Heated, 4-Wire, Sold Individually
Jun 26, 2020
Great parts, but ripped off on installation at BrakeMasters
Very happy with both the items you sent me, exactly what I ordered and fast delivery. I got both the "before" and "after" catalytic converter sensors, since the mechanic at BrakeMasters wasn't sure which one was causing the engine light. I told them to fix whichever it was - but the price the quoted me for a factory original sensor was $250.00 (!!) so I ordered these on-line from you, with their approval, and dropped them off. However, they later told my wife that neither unit would fit my 2012 Kia Sportage - some nonsense about "California Emission standards" (we live in Arizona and I bought the new car here). She didn't understand the details, and told them to get one that did fit and install it. When I picked up the car, the bill was $352.00!! And when they gave me the parts back, only the "after converter" unit had been opened - the other was still sealed in the packaging. Yet it was that one - the "before" unit - that they had replaced. They wrote on the Invoice that the parts I supplied didn't fit - now I'm going to have to return them to you, but not until I sort this out with BrakeMasters, where I've been a customer for almost 20 years. Wish me luck.

Audi 100 Quattro Guides

FAQs—Audi 100 Quattro

Why is my Audi 100 Quattro hard to shift?

The most common cause of hard shifting in your Audi 100 Quattro is low transmission fluid level. Your car's transmission needs transmission fluid to keep the transmission gears lubricated and to keep the transmission cool as well. When you are running low on transmission fluid, the gears might not be lubricated well enough, therefore causing your gears to shift hard.

To check if you have the right level of transmission fluid, use the dipstick located in the engine bay. The dipstick has indicators that will tell you if you have enough fluid for your transmission. Check the fluid in the morning before you turn the engine on since this will give you a more accurate result. While you are checking the fluid level, do take the opportunity to check the fluid if it is still pink and clear and if it has a burnt smell. If the fluid is already dark purple or brownish and if it already has a burnt smell, you need to flush it out and replace it with new fluid.

How do I deal with the constant overheating of my engine?

What you need to do first is to find out why your engine is overheating. Since there are several causes of engine overheating, you need to pin point the cause of the problem so you'll know which part needs to be fixed. The most common and widely known cause is when the coolant is leaking. It can be hard to identify where the leak is coming from since the cooling system is made up of several components such as the radiator, radiator hose, heater core, cylinder head, water pump, freeze plugs, head gasket, and transmission oil cooler. The best thing to do is to perform a pressure test. With a pressure test, it will be easier to identify the part that is causing the problem. Incorrect coolant mixture can also cause engine overheating. The correct coolant mixture is supposed to be made up of one part distilled water and one part antifreeze. If you want to be sure, you can consult your owner's manual for the recommended coolant mixture. If it isn't the aforementioned causes, you can try checking if the coolant passageways are blocked. Small chips of corroded parts or dirt can find their way into the passageways and cause blockage.

Engine overheating should be dealt with immediately to avoid permanent and costly engine damage.

Why is my Audi 100 Quattro hard to start?

Firstly, you should check the starter if it is still working properly. The starter can get damaged and worn out over time because of the high current that flows through it. If the starter is working fine, try to check your car's battery. Every time you use your car, the battery powers up the electrical parts of your vehicle and that includes the ignition, which is crucial in starting your car's engine. If it is because of the battery, you should check if it still has enough charge or if the battery is still working.
