I feel that my Audi S3 lacks power. What is causing it?
If your vehicle lacks power, it can be because of various reasons and among them is because of a poor injector contact. If this is the one that is causing the problem, there will also be too much vibration. To prevent this from happening, you need to keep your fuel injectors clean. Another cause of this problem is a faulty air-conditioning system. If the air-conditioning system is not working properly, it may suck more power, therefore causing more power to be diverted away from the engine. An overloaded cooling system can also cause the lack of engine power. If the cooling system is overloaded, more power will be needed to make it run, therefore also diverting the power that is supposed to be for the engine. A faulty ECU can also cause this problem as it can direct the engine to lessen the power it creates even if there is no need for it.
Why is my transmission not working properly?
If you are having problems with your transmission, it may be because of a dirty or worn out clutch. If the clutch goes bad, it may not be able to engage the gears properly. Your transmission fluid could also be causing the problem. To transfer torque from the torque converter to the transmission, there should be enough transmission fluid to create the required internal pressure to engage the various gears. If the fluid level is low, there might be a delay in the engagement of the gears. Another transmission problem cause is a bad pump or a blocked pickup tube or fluid filter. If the pump is faulty and the pickup tube or fluid filter is clogged, the flow of the transmission fluid will be restricted. A bad pressure regulation can also cause a problematic transmission. If the transmission is not working properly, you should not take it lightly, rather give it immediate attention to prevent more serious problems.
How do I replace a faulty window regulator?
Normally, the window regulator is attached to the door shell with the use of special rivets. To replace the window regulator, you need to drill the rivets out. After the faulty window regulator is replaced with a new one, replace the rivets in the door and the window glass. If you use bolts to replace the original rivets, they might not work as bolts do not supply the right tension needed, unlike the special rivets. While you are at it, you should clean the felt and rubber channels that guide the glass when it goes up or down. If you keep these channels clean and lubricate them with dry silicone spray. This will greatly reduce the strain on the window regulators. If the channels get too sticky and too dry, the glass window may also stick, preventing it from moving up or down.
Repairing the power windows is quite an arduous task, so many people opt to have it done in a service center. However, if you are up for the challenge, you can do the job yourself. Just make sure that you have the proper know-how.
