Taking Care of Your Infiniti Q70
Hailed as the queen of Infiniti's passenger-car line, the Infiniti Q70 commands a unique presence on the road with its voluptuous body. Auto enthusiasts see the Q70 as the car for sportier drivers because of its four-wheel steer that allows it to move sharply in the corners. It is so much fun to drive—you do not want to lose that fun driving experience, right?
As the owner of this stylish sedan, you are responsible for the maintenance of your car. Sticking to a maintenance regimen will keep your Q70 looking like a timeless beauty—rather than a piece of junk—on the road. Here are some tips to achieve that:
- Know your car's scheduled maintenance by heart.
Both the required and optional maintenance items for your Q70 are listed and explained in your Infiniti Service and Maintenance Guide. Keep that manual handy because it is your reference guide to make sure that you perform the necessary maintenance on your car at the right intervals.
- Take care of your windshield.
Inspect it at least once every six months to see any damage such as cracks. While you are at it, check also the wiper blades for cracks. If the windshield or wiper blades are damaged, have them fixed by a qualified mechanic. Do not forget to wash your windshield regularly as well. Any damage or stain on your windshield will compromise your safety on the road.
- Inspect the doors and hood.
Make sure that all doors and the hood work properly and lock securely. Keep the links, rollers, latches, latch pins, and hinges lubricated.
- Never get tired of taking care of your tires.
Your tires need a lot of maintenance work for them to last long and be stable while you are cruising the road. Tire air pressure is one of the must-dos—check it using a tire pressure gauge regularly and before you go on a long trip. Adjust the pressure in all tires, along with the spare tire, to the pressure that is recommended by Infiniti.
Make sure that your tires are rotated every 5,000 miles. Check also your tires for mechanical damage such as excessive wear or cuts. If you notice a strange or uneven tire wear, then your Q70 is already due for wheel alignment. Same thing also applies when your car pulls to either side while you drive on a straight and even road. Additionally, wheel balancing is needed when the seat or steering wheel vibrates at normal highway speeds.
Check them to see if they work properly and smoothly, making sure that they do not need uneven effort when pressing. If one or two of the following symptoms on the brake pedal show, consult a dealer as soon as possible to prevent any brake issue: spongy feel of the pedal, the pedal abruptly going down than normal, and the car taking longer than usual to stop.
- Check the exhaust system.
Watch out for signs of exhaust system failure in your Infiniti Q70 such as weird noises and smell of exhaust fumes. Have it checked by a qualified dealer if you notice one of the symptoms. Also, check your exhaust components for any cracks, loose supports, or holes that can affect the overall performance of your exhaust system.
